Project Shine in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1

Project Shine is coming to the Kenmore neighborhood beginning Sunday afternoon!  For those of you who don’t know much about this local ministry, you can check out the website.

For those of you familiar with, or ready to participate in Project Shine next week, here is a goofy group of thoughts organized appropriately.

Son of God.  Jesus is the Son of God and He’s mighty to save us from our sins and give us hope for this life and the next.  Jesus is what Project shine is all about.

Hallelujah.  This year’s project is ready to start.  We’ll have a total volunteer force of 90-100 for the week and we’re ready to go and love and serve.  Hallelujah that all the planning is over and the week is ready to begin!

I have a role to play.  One of the big parts of Shine is that each person who comes truly has a role to play.  Each individual participant contributes in meaningful ways.

Now.  Life is urgent.  It matters what we do.  It matters if we believe.  There are consequences if we don’t.  For those of you planning to participate, are you prepared?  Are you excited?  Does what is about to happen really, really, matter?  And better yet, are you preparing to come and serve like it matters?

Evermore.  This project will have eternal implications.  The last line of Psalm 23, our chapter of study for Shine 2011, includes the thought that “I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”.  We hope and pray that Project Shine 2011 will help us live to the fullest in this life while preparing for the next.

Have a great Friday!

In Christ,

Pastor Kevin
