Spiritual Emphasis Week Is Coming!!

Greetings!

We are very excited for the week to come.  Christians everywhere unite under the main truth of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  A seemingly splintered body throughout the year gathers in unity during this week.

At Goss we are going to take a week’s worth of special services and unpack our next stop in our I Corinthians series.  If you want to read ahead, we will be in I Corinthians 15:1-11 in various ways in each of our special services.  Here is a quick layout of what will take place.

Sunday, April 17 – Dinner and Evening Service

We’ll gather at 5:32 p.m. for dinner and a service will follow which will challenge us with the true essence what the Gospel is, what the Gospel isn’t, and why it all matters to us.  NOTE:  Children’s ministry for children of all ages will be available.

Wednesday, April 20 – Dinner and Prayer Service

Dinner will begin by 6:00 p.m. and we’ll gather in the sanctuary at 7:00 for an evening of worship and prayer.  Come hungry to worship through praise and music and battle in prayer warfare for the Gospel to be effective in our lives and in our church’s ministries.  NOTE:  Children’s ministry for children of all ages will be available.

Thursday, April 21 – Communion Service (Maundy Thursday)

“Maundy ” is a word which comes from the Latin and refers to “commands”.  Christ commanded his believers to remember him always.  We will focus in on the truth that Christ died for our sins.  Do we remember him in our lives, and each time we take communion?

Friday, April 22 – Good Friday

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.  This little phrase in I Corinthians 15 is powerful.  Come this evening as we explore the depths of God’s love for us and the power of Jesus’ sacrifice to pay for our sins.

Resurrection Sunday – I Corinthians 15:12-28.  Is Our Faith Useless?

8:30 – Youth-Led “Sunrise” Service

9:15 – Breakfast (offering will be taken to offset the cost of the breakfast)

10:30 – Morning Worship

2011 Easter Offering – This year’s special Easter offering will benefit two local causes.  We’ll split the proceeds of this year’s offering between the KMA’s need for Bible distribution to Kenmore High School graduating seniors and Project Shine, a local missions organization connecting people to Christ through basic home improvement in the Kenmore community.
