Encourage One Another Daily

Hebrews 3:13 encourages believers to “encourage one another daily . . . so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness”.

So, how can basic encouragement help us keep from sinning?

1.  Keeping in touch with each other outside of church helps us know we’re in it together – not just on Sundays and Wednesdays.  Sharing Scriptures, encouraging each other through tough times – it really is where the rubber meets the road!

2.  Sometimes we really get down on ourselves.  If we’re honest, we all struggle with different things from week to week, and maybe from day to day!  It can be sinful to dwell on the negative all the time because it takes away from the glory of a God who is in control and wants us to trust him in all circumstances.

3.  We can be intentional with each other in sharing what sins we struggle with.  Encouraging each other can help us win the battle over sin if we let others know about those specific struggles and allow others to help us when we know we’re being tempted.

4.  A simple pick-me-up is a great thing!  Who doesn’t want to get an encourage note, e-mail, phone call, visit, or text message?  These are good for strengthening our relationships and encouraging each other to press on for the glory of Christ.

So . . . who can you encourage today?  And how will you do it?  I’d love to hear any stories of how taking  a few moments of your day to encourage someone else actually blessed you!  Enjoy your Monday . . .

In Christ,

Pastor Kevin
