All things in Christ

“All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future–all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.” – I Corinthians 3:21-22

This is where we ended in yesterday’s text.  There are several MIS-applications of this text.  Let’s think about a few:

1.  We can have everything we want just because we’re believers.

2. We are guaranteed material success and wealth if we’re believers.

3. God is obligated to do things for us because we’re believers.

And on and on and on we could go.  Let’s remember the POWER of interpreting this verse within its context. With so much having been written about pridefully identifying with various teachers, this verse almost seems to ask the question:  why would any believer want a man instead of all of the glorious blessing we have in Christ?  If we focus on Christ, He brings a perspective on all the things mentioned in this list that help us no matter where we are on life’s journey.

As we begin this week:  eyes glued on Christ!
